Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch your green beans. (Let them cook for about 3 to 4 minutes and then add them to ice cold water to stop the cooking process immediately.

3Drain and set aside.

4In a cast iron skillet (if possible,) add the chopped bacon. Cook for a few minutes and then add the ghee and onions to the skillet.

5Cook until the onions are caramelized (takes a little time.)

6In an 8x8 baking or casserole dish, combine the caramelized onion mixture with the green beans.

7Stir in the creamy mushroom sauce.

8Sprinkle the top of the casserole with almond flour and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

9Then set oven to broil for a couple minutes or until the top is golden brown watching carefully so this doesn't burn.

10Voila!

Ingredients

1 pound (~4 cups) fresh green beans, ends trimmed and cut in half

1-2 slices bacon, chopped (optional for flavor. or turkey bacon)

1 tablespoon ghee

1 white onion, sliced

2 cups light creamy mushroom soup

1/3 cup almond flour to use as topping, optional
