I substitute the permitted tablespoon of dairy milk with almond milk just fine. It actually has less sugar and more calcium, (along with countless other health benefits) so we only use Almond milk in our household. Greek yogurt is definitely not permitted on Phase 2 because of the fat content. If you decide to go rogue and try greek yogurt on Phase 2, stick to plain and avoid the fruit versions which are extremely high in sugar and calories. You can incorporate plain greek yogurt in Phase 3 just fine, but again, no fruit versions since you will want to stabilize without sugars and starches. Hope this helps! Cannot find veal where I live — can you substitute lamb during the initial start of the diet??
Jen L
I would suggest sticking to meats that are as lean as possible. I would pass on lamb until Phase 3 for this reason.
